Biography:
Keira Knightley was born on March 22, 1983 to actor father Will Knightley and actor/author mother Sharman MacDonald. She was introduced to acting when she was 11 years old; with a role in A Village Affair.

Keira has acted in television in movies since 1994, but she got her first big break when she was cast in Star Wars Episode I as Queen Amidala's decoy, Sabé. She was chosen to play Sabé because of her remarkable resemblance to actress Natalie Portman (and of course, because she's a great actress ). However, to this day, many fans still think that Natalie Portman played both roles.

After her role in Star Wars, Keira acted in TV series such as Oliver Twist and Princess of Thieves, and the movie The Hole. In 2002, she starred in Bend it Like Beckham, a hit British comedy that recently made a very impressive release in North America. She also starred as the tragic heroine Lara in a brand new version of the classic Dr. Zhivago.

In 2003 she wowed audiences alongside actors Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom in Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean. She also appeared in the ensemble piece Love Actually, with Emma Thompson, Colin Firth, and Hugh Grant, and others. In 2004 she will play Guinevere to Ioan Gruffudd's Lancelot in King Arthur.
