Synopsis: John
Connor is now in his early 20's, and a female terminator, called T-X
or Terminatrix, is after him . Another T-800 is sent back through
time to protect John once again on the verge of the rise of the machines.
Review: I should probably inform everyone, right off the bat, that
I missed the first five or ten minutes of this film. I don’t
think I missed a whole lot. I didn’t hate this movie, or love
it. I was pleasantly surprised that is was only an hour and a half,
which in my opinion was a good call. This movie didn’t have
a lot of redeeming qualities. The high speed chase scene, which I
imagine was meant to be like the scene in T2, wasn’t as good.
I also think that all the new abilities the TX (Kristanna
Loken) had were pretty much just unfair.
I like Nick Stahl, he was great in In the Bedroom, but he isn’t
Edward Furlong. Why did they need a different actor to play John
Connor? Ed is still young! The resemblance isn’t striking,
and the whole movie I just couldn’t get over the fact that
they replaced Furlong. As far as the machines go, Kristanna
Loken was beautiful, but the part is all about not acting, so
she was pretty much just a trophy model. What really gets to me
is that Arnold is 56 and looks exactly the same as he did in the
last two films (and we see enough to know and make the comparison).
Claire Danes got to do the whole
screaming chick thing, and she did well. Nothing too memorable there.
So yeah, for fans of the first two Terminator movies, this is worth
seeing. I think they took the plot to a place where it couldn’t
go any further, although I thought that after the second one too…so
we’ll see.
